A Nightmare on Elm Street (#2)

Well, I’ll be damned. I was intrigued by the first trailer, and decided to overlook the obvious flaws due to my being such a Freddy mark…But, I’ll be damned if this trailer doesn’t have me really excited to see this movie. The look like they are doing some really interesting things with the whole “dream” concept…the whole micro naps thing is especially cool, and it seems that Haley’s Freddy voice isn’t as crappy as I originally thought. I don’t know if the movie magic people got the test results from the first trailer in, and did some tweaking or what, but Freddy sounds just a bit more real in this one. Still don’t know how I feel about Thomas Dekker seemingly taking a spot once held by Johnny Depp, but those would be pretty big shoes for anyone to fill. Plus, the obvious critique will be Haley taking on the glove and fedora. I will do my best to not compare his performance to Robert Englund’s (should I?)…If completely seperate from one another, I think Haley may bring some interesting techniques to the table. We shall see. April 30th can’t get here soon enough.
